ประโยคที่เขียนในรูป active voice จะเข้าใจง่ายกว่าการเขียนประโยคนั้น ๆ ให้อยู่ในรูปของ passive voice การเปลี่ยน passive voice ให้เป็น active voice สามารถทำได้ไม่ยากนัก แต่ต้องอาศัยการฝึกฝนเล็กน้อย ในตารางด้านล่าง คำกริยา to be ที่ใน passive voice จะมีรูปเดียวกันกับ tense ที่ใช้ในคำกริยาหลักใน active voice หากคุณต้องการใช้ active voice คุณต้องให้ประธานเป็นผู้กระทำกริยานั้น ๆ อย่างชัดเจน
